You’ll collaborate with school teams and families across Jackson, Josephine, Douglas, Klamath, and Lake counties, providing support either in-person or virtually to best meet student needs. The assignment extends from December 7, 2026, through June 11, 2027, with a weekly commitment of 30-32 hours.
Key Qualifications:
- Valid Oregon Teacher of the Visually Impaired (TVI) certification/licensure required
- Experience supporting K-12 students in inclusive or specialized settings
- Strong communication and collaboration skills with multidisciplinary teams
- Comfort with both in-person and virtual (VOCO) instruction
- Flexibility to travel within service-area counties as needed
- Commitment to fostering independence, accessibility, and academic growth
What You’ll Do:
- Design and deliver individualized lessons and modifications to support access to curriculum
- Conduct functional vision assessments and contribute to IEP development
- Teach compensatory skills, Braille, assistive technology, and orientation/mobility as appropriate
- Consult with general and special education staff to maximize accessible learning environments
- Provide training and resources to staff and families
- Advocate for student needs and collaborate on transition planning
- Maintain ongoing documentation, progress monitoring, and timely reports
