The assignment begins December 7, 2026 and continues through June 11, 2027, with a weekly commitment of 30-32 hours.
Key Qualifications:
- Valid Oregon Teacher of the Visually Impaired (TVI) Certification or Licensure is required
- Experience working with students who are visually impaired, across K-12 grade levels
- Skilled in adaptive teaching methods, Braille instruction, and accessibility tools for visually impaired learners
- Strong communication abilities and a collaborative mindset
- Organized, reliable, and able to travel across designated counties if opting for in-person instruction
Responsibilities:
- Provide direct instruction and specialized support to K-12 students who are visually impaired
- Develop and implement Individualized Education Plans (IEPs)
- Adapt curriculum and teaching strategies to suit each student’s unique needs
- Collaborate with other educators, school staff, and families to promote student progress
- Maintain accurate records of student growth, services provided, and assessments
- Travel as needed to schools throughout Jackson, Josephine, Douglas, Klamath, and Lake Counties or deliver engaging virtual instruction
