Key Qualifications:

  • Current Arizona Secondary Teaching Certificate
  • Specialized K-12 certification (or endorsement) in Visually Impaired Special Education
  • Valid IVP fingerprint clearance card (required prior to start)
  • Experience as a Teacher of the Visually Impaired in K-12 settings preferred
  • Strong communication and organizational abilities
  • Flexibility to support students across various school locations

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Provide direct instruction and consultative services to students who are visually impaired, adapting lessons to individual needs
  • Collaborate with general education teachers and staff to develop accessible materials, accommodations, and modifications
  • Participate in IEP meetings and assist in developing and implementing individualized education plans
  • Offer orientation and mobility strategies, as appropriate
  • Travel to and support multiple campus locations, with potential consideration for virtual roles as needed
  • Maintain accurate records and progress reports per district and legal requirements
