Teacher of the Visually Impaired in Juniata, NE

Qualifications & Skills:
- Valid teaching certification for Visual Impairment
- Experience working with children or youth with visual impairments

- Strong collaboration skills for working with teachers, staff, and families
- Creative problem-solving for individualized education planning (IEP)
- Effective communication skills, both written and verbal
Responsibilities:
- Deliver specialized instruction to students with visual impairments in accordance with IEP goals
- Conduct student assessments to determine functional vision and instructional needs
- Create engaging lesson plans and adapt classroom materials to ensure accessibility
- Provide consultative support and coaching to general education staff on strategies and accommodations
- Foster skill-building in orientation, mobility, and daily living tasks
- Participate in IEP meetings and contribute to educational planning for each student
- Maintain timely documentation and progress reports
