TVI - Littlerock, CA
Step into a fulfilling contract position supporting students with visual impairments in the elementary and middle school setting. This opportunity, starting in August and running through June 2027, offers a full-time schedule (Monday through Friday, 37.5 hours per week) and the chance to make a tangible impact within a dedicated educational community.
Your primary responsibilities will involve providing direct instruction and support to a caseload of approximately 15 students, with no more than five requiring Braille instruction. Your expertise will be essential in developing and implementing individualized education plans (IEPs), collaborating with classroom teachers, and consulting with families to promote student success. You’ll commute between school sites and districts, ensuring cohesive service delivery throughout the week.
What you'll bring:
- Valid teaching credentials and certification for Teachers of the Visually Impaired (TVI)
- Experience or training in Braille instruction preferred
- Knowledge of adaptive technologies and accommodations for visually impaired students
- Strong communication, collaboration, and organizational skills
- Ability to adapt teaching strategies to meet diverse student needs
- Willingness to travel and work across multiple sites
- Dedication to fostering an inclusive, accessible learning environment
Key responsibilities include:
- Delivering instruction and modified curriculum tailored to student needs
- Producing and adapting educational materials in accessible formats
