Qualifications/Desired Experience:
- Valid state teaching certification in Visual Impairment (VI)
- O&M certification highly valued (dual credentialed professionals preferred)
- Experience delivering instruction to K-12 students with visual impairments
- Strong knowledge of Braille and adaptive technology
- Collaborative approach to working with multidisciplinary teams, students, and families
- Excellent communication, organization, and advocacy skills
Key Responsibilities:
- Assess student needs and develop individualized education programs (IEPs)
- Deliver adaptive instruction aligned with state standards
- Teach Braille, assistive technology, and daily living skills
- Provide Orientation & Mobility instruction (if certified)
- Support classroom teachers and families with resources and strategies for inclusion and accessibility
- Collaborate with related service providers
