What We’re Looking For:
- Certification as a Teacher of the Visually Impaired (TVI) or eligibility for certification
- Experience working with students who are blind or visually impaired, preferably in K-12 settings
- Familiarity with Braille instruction and adaptive technology for low vision and blind learners
- Strong communication skills and collaborative approach to working with teachers, specialists, and families
- Ability to develop and implement Individualized Education Plans (IEPs)
- Flexibility, creativity, and a true passion for accessible education
Your Responsibilities Will Include:
- Delivering effective instruction in Braille, assistive technology, and orientation & mobility techniques
- Adapting and modifying curriculum materials for students with visual impairments
- Evaluating students' educational needs and progress, maintaining detailed records
- Participating in IEP meetings and contributing expert input to student accommodation plans
- Serving as a resource for classroom teachers and staff to promote inclusive learning environments
- Supporting families by providing strategies and updates on student progress
