Teacher of the Visually Impaired in Savoy, IL

Preferred qualifications and experience:
- Valid teaching certification with a specialization in Visual Impairment.
- Previous experience as a Teacher for the Visually Impaired, ideally in a school setting.

- Commitment to individualized education planning and accommodations.
- Excellent communication skills for interacting with students, staff, and parents.
- Flexibility and problem-solving skills in diverse educational environments.
Key responsibilities:
- Deliver direct instruction to students with visual impairments across various grade levels and abilities.
- Assess student needs and develop appropriate Individualized Education Program (IEP) goals and materials.
- Collaborate with classroom teachers to modify materials and integrate assistive technology for curriculum access.
- Provide consultation and support to staff and families regarding best practices and accommodations.
- Regularly monitor and document student progress, adjusting instructional strategies as necessary.
- Maintain compliance with local, state, and federal special education requirements.
