Key qualifications:
- Valid Georgia Educator Certification for Teachers of the Visually Impaired (TVI)
- Recent experience working within school systems, specifically with visually impaired students
- Ability to document daily service logs in compliance with district standards
- Comfortable working onsite (virtual/remote options are not available)
- Flexible attitude toward caseload assignment, to be determined in interview based on experience and student needs
Primary duties:
- Deliver direct instruction and consultative services to students with visual impairments in accordance with their Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
- Adapt and modify curriculum and materials to ensure accessibility and equitable learning opportunities
- Collaborate with general and special education staff to implement strategies supporting student success
- Maintain consistently detailed documentation for all services provided
- Participate in IEP meetings, professional development, and school-based planning as required
- Engage in pre- and post-planning activities around the school calendar, as determined by the district
This assignment is set to run from early August through late May, with potential for some additional days dedicated to planning, and offers both full-time and part-time flexibility, depending on district needs.
