1:1 Long-Term Teacher of Visually Impaired in Midlothian, VA

Qualifications & Experience:
- Possess a Bachelor’s Degree (B.A.) from an accredited college or university
- Hold current state certification as a Teacher of the Visually Impaired
- Previous experience in a pediatric or school-based setting preferred
- Proven ability to work effectively in a 1:1 instructional environment
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Adaptability and enthusiasm for collaborating within multidisciplinary teams
- Reliable, compassionate, and patient working with young learners
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver individualized instruction and adaptive strategies for a student with visual impairment in accordance with the student’s education plan
- Collaborate closely with special education staff, classroom teachers, and families to align educational goals
- Evaluate student progress, adjusting strategies and accommodations as needed to maximize learning outcomes
- Assist in the selection and incorporation of assistive technology and tactile/visual materials
- Support the student’s participation in classroom activities and ensure accessibility
- Provide consultative support and resources to other educational staff as required
