Our education staffing team is partnering with a Minnesota district to fill two full-time Teacher of the Visually Impaired (TVI) positions for the 2026–2027 school year.
Position Overview
The Teacher of the Visually Impaired will provide specialized instruction and support to students with visual impairments across multiple educational settings.
Responsibilities may include:
Delivering direct and consultative vision services
Supporting student access to curriculum and educational materials
Collaborating with teachers, related service providers, and families
Participating in IEP meetings and educational planning
Monitoring student progress and maintaining required documentation
Supporting students with visual impairments and additional disabilities as needed
Caseload & Assignment Details
Caseload of approximately 25–30 students
Primarily students with vision disabilities
Some students may have secondary or tertiary disabilities
Travel between 2–3 school sites
Potential assignment locations include:
North Education Center
South Education Center
West Education Center
Important Information
One potential placement is within Intermediate District 287, a setting IV program serving students with significant behavioral, physical, and complex support needs. Candidates should be comfortable working with students who may require intensive educational and behavioral support.
Qualifications
Valid Teacher of the Visually Impaired (TVI) certification/licensure required
Experience working with students with visual impairments preferred
Strong collaboration, communication, and organizational skills
Ability to work effectively across multiple school sites

Full-time, 37.5 hours per week
Onsite position
Travel between assigned buildings may be required

Compensation for this position ranges from $31.95 to $61.95. Eligible candidates may also receive healthcare benefits, housing, and meals/incidentals.
