With an itinerant schedule designed to minimize travel time, you'll work closely with both general education and specialized classrooms, providing essential support where it matters most.
Key Qualifications:
- Valid DOE certification in good standing
- Professional experience supporting students with visual impairments
- Proficiency in Braille and adaptive technology for visually impaired students (familiarity with Federal Quota program highly valued)
- Comfort conducting IEP meetings and documentation, with experience using electronic platforms such as TN Pulse
- Strong communication and organizational skills, able to travel efficiently between assigned campuses
Responsibilities:
- Deliver direct instructional services to students with visual impairments from elementary through high school, in both general education and special education settings
- Assess student needs, implement individualized educational plans, and monitor progress via the district’s online IEP system
- Facilitate access to assistive technology and collaborate with staff to optimize learning resources (district uses Chromebooks)
- Coordinate schedules and support between multiple schools within an assigned geographic area
- Maintain accurate records and comply with all credentialing, including timely fingerprinting
