As a valued educator, you'll travel between schools in the greater Chattanooga area, helping to shape learning experiences for students in grades K-12+ across general education and specialized classrooms. Key Qualifications:
- Certified as a Teacher of the Visually Impaired (TVI) with an active DOE certification
- Proficiency in Braille instruction and familiarity with assistive technology for visually impaired learners
- Experience completing and participating in IEPs, preferably with the TN Pulse platform
- Comfortable supporting diverse caseloads (elementary, middle, and high school; general and special education environments)
- Strong adaptability and team collaboration skills
- Ability to travel between geographically assigned campuses as needed
- Completed (or willing to complete) fingerprint-based background check
- Bonus: Knowledge of the Federal Quota program for assistive technology access
Role Overview:
- Deliver high-quality, individualized instruction to students with visual impairments
- Support both general education integration and specialized programs
- Consult and collaborate with classroom teachers, related service providers, and families
- Guide and participate in IEP meetings for assigned students
