This full-time, contract opportunity runs from August 5, 2026, to May 19, 2027, with the possibility of part-time hours if needed. You will serve an itinerant caseload across grades K-12+, working with both general education students and those with multiple disabilities. Key Qualifications:
- Valid DOE teaching certification
- Expertise in Braille and assistive technology; familiarity with Federal Quota program a plus
- Previous experience as a Teacher for the Visually Impaired (TVI), supporting students in both general and special education settings
- Comfortable with TN Pulse platform for IEP management and participation
- Proficiency using Chromebooks and supporting accessible technology integration
- Must complete required fingerprinting for credentialing
Responsibilities:
- Empower K-12+ students with visual impairments through individualized instruction and adaptive strategies
- Travel to multiple schools, with campuses grouped to minimize commute times
- Develop, implement, and monitor IEP goals; collaborate in IEP meetings
- Integrate assistive technologies and accessible materials for students
- Work alongside classroom teachers and special education teams to facilitate learning
- Support student success in a variety of classroom environments
