This full-time contract position offers a dynamic, itinerant schedule working directly with K-12+ students, ensuring each receives individualized support for success in both general and special education settings.
You’ll have the chance to create meaningful impact, traveling between assigned schools (with efforts made to minimize commute time). With newly established schedules in the works, you'll have your caseload and locations clarified soon. The role also involves collaborative engagement in IEP meetings and leveraging technology and adaptive tools to empower students.
Qualifications & Desired Experience:
- Valid and active DOE Teacher Certification, with credentialing requirements including fingerprint clearance.
- Experience with Braille and assistive technology is essential.
- Bonus if you have familiarity with the Federal Quota program for assistive tech.
- Comfortable supporting K-12+ students across various educational settings (general education and multi-disability classrooms).
- Ability to use Chromebooks and adapt digital tools for accessibility.
- Prior school-based experience as a TVI strongly preferred.
- Proficiency with IEP platforms (TN Pulse experience an asset).
- Strong communication, organization, and flexibility for travel within assigned geographic areas.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide direct instruction, support, and adaptive strategies to visually impaired students.
- Travel between multiple school sites as assigned, delivering consistent services.
- Participate actively in IEP meetings and document progress via TN Pulse.
- Collaborate with school staff, families, and related service providers.
- Implement and support the use of Braille and assistive technologies.
