This opportunity spans the entire 2026-2027 academic year, starting in early August and concluding before summer break in May. While the primary need is for full-time support at 35 hours each week, part-time arrangements may be considered for outstanding candidates. Your commitment and unique skill set will help bridge a gap, as these positions have been vacant throughout the previous school year.
Key Qualifications:
- Current, active DOE certification required
- Expertise in braille instruction and experience with assistive technology
- Familiarity with the Federal Quota program is an asset
- Experience supporting both general education and complex needs students
- Proficiency with Chromebooks and comfort using online IEP platforms, especially TN Pulse
- Willingness to travel between assigned schools in a geographically organized area
- Fingerprinting and timely credentialing completion will be necessary
Primary Duties:
- Provide direct and consultative services for students with visual impairments
- Collaborate in IEP meetings, ensuring legal compliance and alignment of services
- Support access to the curriculum through adaptation and assistive technology
- Work closely with school teams and families to foster inclusion and independence
