Teacher of the Visually Impaired in Scottsbluff, NE

Qualifications and Desired Experience:
- Valid certification as a Teacher for the Visually Impaired
- Experience working with students who have varying degrees of visual impairment
- Strong understanding of individualized education program (IEP) processes and assistive technology
- Ability to travel between multiple district sites as needed
- Excellent communication and collaborative skills
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Special Education or related field preferred
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide direct and consultative services to students with visual impairments in educational settings
- Develop, implement, and monitor IEP goals tailored to each student’s needs
- Support classroom teachers and staff with strategies and resources for accessibility and inclusion
- Conduct assessments to determine students’ levels of functional vision, orientation and mobility, and academic needs
- Advocate for necessary accommodations and modifications to ensure student success
- Maintain accurate records and participate in IEP meetings across districts
