Desired Qualifications:
- Valid, active teaching credential for Visually Impaired students
- Prior experience as a Teacher for the Visually Impaired (TVI) preferred
- Familiarity with Braille instruction, assistive technology, and adapted curriculum
- Skilled at conducting assessments and developing Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
- Excellent communication and collaboration abilities
- Passion for supporting diverse learners
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver specialized instruction to students with visual impairments across various grade levels
- Assist in developing and implementing IEPs
- Provide support and training in the use of Braille, technology, and accessible materials
- Consult with classroom teachers and support staff to modify lessons and environments
- Monitor student progress and adapt teaching strategies for optimal engagement
- Foster a positive, inclusive, and supportive atmosphere for students and their families
