Bring your expertise as a Teacher for the Visually Impaired to an impactful role supporting students in a dynamic, collaborative school environment near Orlando, FL. As an itinerant educator, you’ll work with a diverse caseload of K–8 students across two schools within well-connected campus clusters—rarely extending to three schools a day. This is a rewarding contract opportunity, running from August 10, 2026, through May 25, 2027, offering full-time hours and the chance to ignite student growth in multiple settings.
What you’ll bring:
- Current Educator Certification with Vision endorsement
- Experience teaching and supporting students who are visually impaired, ideally at the elementary and/or middle school level
- Ability to travel between two school sites within the same school cluster each day
- Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills
- Commitment to inclusive education and individualized support for diverse learners
- Willingness to complete required district background checks, fingerprinting, and associated compliance forms
- Flexibility to negotiate your caseload based on experience and availability
Key responsibilities:
- Provide direct instruction and ongoing support to K–8 students with visual impairments
- Collaborate with general education teachers, school staff, and families to ensure accommodations and modifications are implemented
- Develop and monitor Individualized Education Program (IEP) goals related to visual impairment
- Consult with district staff to advocate and plan for accessible learning environments
- Conduct assessments and adjust teaching strategies as needed
- Maintain accurate documentation and participate in IEP meetings
