Key Qualifications:
- Certified as a Teacher of the Visually Impaired (TVI)
- Prior experience working with school-aged children with visual impairments
- Strong understanding of Braille, assistive technology, and adaptive techniques for accessible learning
- Excellent organizational and communication skills to coordinate with multiple schools and teams
- Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel within the county
Primary Responsibilities:
- Provide specialized instruction and adaptations for students with visual impairments
- Assess students’ needs and collaborate with educational professionals to develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs)
- Travel to different schools within the county as an itinerant resource, ensuring consistent and high-quality service delivery
- Train and support school staff and families in using assistive tools and strategies
- Monitor student progress and maintain accurate records in accordance with district and state guidelines
