Qualifications:
- Valid teaching certification for Teachers of the Visually Impaired (TVI)
- Previous experience working with school-aged children with visual impairments preferred
- Strong familiarity with individualized education programs (IEPs) and related documentation
- Reliable transportation to travel between multiple schools within the county
- Exceptional communication, collaboration, and organization skills
Responsibilities:
- Provide direct instruction and support to students with visual impairments in a variety of school settings
- Adapt curriculum materials and utilize assistive technology to promote access and independence
- Work closely with classroom educators, families, and related service providers to ensure continuity of care
- Conduct assessments to determine students' needs and progress
- Document and monitor progress, maintaining compliance with IEPs and district requirements
- Deliver training and consultation to staff regarding best practices for working with visually impaired students
