Key Qualifications:
- Hold appropriate licensure and certification as a Teacher of the Visually Impaired (TVI)
- Experience working with school-aged children who are blind or visually impaired
- Strong communication skills for collaboration with students, families, and school staff
- Ability to develop and implement individualized educational plans
- Willingness and ability to travel to multiple school sites within the county
- Familiarity with assistive technology and its application for visually impaired students
- Commitment to creating inclusive and accessible learning environments
Responsibilities:
- Travel between assigned schools within the county to deliver direct instruction and consultation
- Conduct assessments to determine student needs and provide recommendations
- Develop, implement, and monitor individualized programs and accommodations
- Collaborate with special education staff, general educators, and related service providers
- Support families and teams in understanding visual impairment and associated educational implications
- Maintain progress reports and documentation in compliance with school and regulatory requirements
- Participate in IEP meetings and contribute to multidisciplinary team planning
