Teacher for the Visually Impaired (TVI) | Phoenixville, Pennsylvania
Make a meaningful difference for students by providing critical educational support as a Teacher for the Visually Impaired (TVI) on a full-time, contractual basis. In this dynamic itinerant role, you’ll work with school-aged children throughout the county, traveling to various school sites to deliver specialized instruction and resources that enhance the educational experience for visually impaired students.
Key Qualifications:
- State certification as a Teacher of the Visually Impaired (TVI)
- Previous experience supporting K-12 students with visual impairments
- Solid understanding of Braille instruction, assistive technology, and accessibility standards
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
- Flexibility and adaptability in working at multiple sites within the county
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
Primary Responsibilities:
- Deliver individualized and small-group instruction aligned with students’ IEP goals
- Assess student needs and recommend adaptive materials and learning tools
- Collaborate with general education teachers, paraprofessionals, and support staff
- Consult and provide training to school personnel on best practices for inclusion
- Travel to multiple school locations to support students in their educational environment
- Complete assessments, progress reports, and maintain detailed records
- Work closely with families to support student learning and advocacy
