1:1 Pediatric 1:1 Teacher for the Visually Impaired (TVI) | Pike Road, Alabama
Support the academic growth and independence of a student with visual impairments in a full-time, on-site contract role designed for an experienced Teacher of the Visually Impaired. Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree (B.A.) required
- State certification as a Teacher of the Visually Impaired
- Experience providing 1:1 instruction, preferably in a pediatric setting
- Demonstrated knowledge of various assistive technologies and modifications for visually impaired students
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Commitment to fostering an inclusive, supporting classroom environment
Role Responsibilities:
- Deliver individualized instruction and adapt curriculum materials for a student with visual impairments
- Work closely with the broader educational team to implement and monitor progress on IEP goals
- Advocate for the specific needs of your student, ensuring accessibility and engagement throughout the school day
- Utilize and train on appropriate assistive devices and technologies
- Maintain accurate documentation and participate in relevant team meetings and professional development
