Key Qualifications & Experience
- Current and active Teacher of the Visually Impaired (TSVI) licensure required.
- Experience working with school-age visually impaired children preferred.
- Flexibility and adaptability to meet evolving caseload needs throughout the academic year.
- Strong communication, collaboration, and organizational skills.
- Genuine commitment to fostering independence and academic achievement for students with visual impairments.
What You’ll Do
- Provide specialized instruction and support for students ages 5–18 to help them access and succeed in the general curriculum.
- Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) in collaboration with multidisciplinary teams.
- Travel between approximately six assigned campuses serving elementary, middle, and high school levels; caseload and campus assignments may vary.
- Offer resources and strategies to teachers, staff, and families to ensure student success both at school and in homebound settings.
- Monitor, assess, and document student progress, and adjust instruction as needed.
- Advocate for accessibility and necessary adaptive materials to meet varied student needs.
