Desired Qualifications:
- Washington State License and Certification (required)
- Ability to learn and demonstrate proficiency in braille
- Willingness to work in-person at multiple district sites
- Fingerprints on file with OSPI prior to start date
- Strong command of English (usage, spelling, grammar, and punctuation)
- Flexibility to accept full- or part-time work (0.5-1.0 FTE)
Responsibilities:
- Transcribe learning materials—including books, tests, maps, and graphs—into braille or alternative formats
- Organize and maintain detailed records of transcriptions and electronic files
- Coordinate with TVIs to adapt learning materials for students
- Stay updated on assistive technology for braille production
- Manage inventory and resource files for alternative media materials
