Qualifications & Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree (B.A.) is required
- Certified Teacher of the Visually Impaired with current state credentials
- Experience providing 1:1 instruction, particularly in pediatric or school-based settings
- Strong communication skills for collaboration with families and staff
- Adaptable teaching style to fit individual student learning needs
- Willingness to work onsite and open to travel candidates
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver specialized, 1:1 instruction to visually impaired students in accordance with Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
- Develop and adapt curriculum materials to meet unique learning needs
- Track and assess student progress, providing regular updates to families and educational teams
- Serve as an advocate and resource for students, promoting independence and self-confidence
- Collaborate effectively with teachers, therapists, and support personnel
- Engage consistently in professional development related to visual impairment education
