ProCare Therapy is seeking a dedicated and qualified Visually Impaired (VI) Teacher for the 2026–2027 school year in San Francisco, CA. This full-time, on-site opportunity offers the chance to provide specialized instruction and support to students with visual impairments in an itinerant role while collaborating with families, educators, and related service providers.
Work Schedule:
35 hours/week
Start Date: October 12, 2026
Contract through June 4, 2027
Qualifications:
Valid California Teaching Credential with a Visual Impairments (VI) authorization/credential required
Previous experience working with students who have visual impairments preferred
Strong communication and collaboration skills
Knowledge of specialized instructional strategies and assistive technology for students with visual impairments
Ability to collaborate effectively with general education teachers, special education staff, families, and related service providers
Key Responsibilities:
Provide specialized instruction to students with visual impairments across assigned school settings
Develop and implement instruction aligned with student IEP goals
Assess student needs and monitor academic and functional progress
Provide instruction and support related to visual access and independence
Collaborate with classroom teachers, families, administrators, and related service providers
Recommend and support the use of appropriate assistive technology and adaptive materials
Participate in IEP meetings and multidisciplinary team collaboration
Maintain accurate student records, progress data, and documentation
Provide consultation and support to school staff regarding the educational needs of students with visual impairments
