Position Highlights:

Qualifications:
- Valid California Education Specialist Instruction Credential authorizing Visual Impairments, or
- California teaching credential with authorization to teach students with visual challenges (EL CLAD)
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university
- Previous experience working with visually impaired students is highly valued
- Strong communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement individualized instruction plans for students with visual impairments
- Collaborate with classroom teachers and support staff to adapt curricula and materials
- Conduct assessments to evaluate student progress and update strategies as needed
- Provide direct instruction in specialized skills, including braille, low vision strategies, and adaptive technology
- Serve as a resource for staff and families on best practices for supporting visually impaired learners
- Participate in IEP meetings and contribute to multidisciplinary planning
