Key Qualifications:
- Hold a valid California Education Specialist Instruction Credential authorizing Visual Impairments or a California teaching credential with authorization for visually handicapped students (EL CLAD).
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university is required.
- Demonstrated success teaching or providing services for students with visual impairments in educational settings.
- Excellent collaboration, communication, and adaptive teaching skills.
- Ability to work in-person (this opportunity is not available for virtual or hybrid arrangements).
Primary Responsibilities:
- Deliver direct instructional services tailored for students with visual impairments, following individualized education plans (IEPs).
- Assess student abilities and needs, adapting materials and curriculum accordingly.
- Collaborate with classroom educators, specialists, and families to develop accessible instructional strategies.
- Advocate for students, ensuring appropriate accommodations, equipment, and instructional materials.
- Remain up-to-date on best practices in teaching students with visual impairments and participate in ongoing professional development.
This position offers a consistent Monday through Friday schedule, 37.5 hours per week, designed to foster meaningful relationships and support student growth in a collaborative onsite environment.
