This full-time position runs from August 10, 2026, to May 27, 2027, working Monday through Friday for 37.5 hours each week. As an integral support to students and faculty, you’ll employ your expertise to facilitate an inclusive educational experience.
Qualifications & Desired Experience:
- Active certification as a Teacher of the Visually Impaired required
- Proficiency with American Sign Language is a distinct advantage
- Background in evidence-based instructional methods for visually impaired students
- Experience conducting formal and informal assessments to monitor student achievement
- Ability to work with a range of grade levels—from elementary to high school
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Experience preparing for and attending ARD (Admission, Review, and Dismissal) meetings
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver tailored instruction based on individual students’ needs and education plans
- Utilize various teaching methods aligned with district and regulatory standards
- Maintain thorough documentation and progress records
- Participate actively in ARD meetings and consult with team members
- Adapt and modify classroom materials for accessibility
- Collaborate with paraprofessionals, interpreters, and related service providers
