Teacher of the Visually Impaired in Stuart, FL

Make a positive impact by supporting students with visual impairments across multiple campuses in a dynamic school district near Stuart, FL. This contract position offers the opportunity to provide specialized instruction to children who are visually impaired, tailoring educational strategies to help each student realize their fullest potential.
You’ll provide on-site support to a caseload of 12 direct students, totaling 690 service minutes per week, along with consultative services for two additional students. Your expertise will be shared across up to five schools, working collaboratively with educators and families to ensure students have the resources and guidance necessary to thrive.
Requirements:
- Valid Florida DOE Teacher for Visually Impaired (TVI) Certification
- Experience teaching Braille to students
- Proven ability to tailor instruction to meet individual needs of visually impaired learners
- Comfortable working across multiple school sites, managing schedules for a diverse caseload
- District fingerprint clearance (prior prints from AHCA Clearinghouse can potentially be accepted)
- Strong organizational, communication, and collaborative skills
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement individualized education programs (IEPs) for students with visual impairments
- Deliver direct and consultative services across assigned campuses
- Teach Braille and adaptive technologies as needed
- Collaborate with general education teachers, specialists, and families
- Advocate for accommodations and accessibility
- Maintain documentation and compliance with district and state requirements
