Qualifications:
- Current California Education Specialist Instruction Credential authorizing Visual Impairments, or
- California teaching credential with authorization to work with visually handicapped students (EL CLAD)
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university
- Experience supporting students with visual impairments in educational settings is highly valued
- Strong teamwork, written, and verbal communication skills
Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement individualized instructional plans for students with visual impairments
- Adapt curriculum materials and learning environments for maximum accessibility
- Provide direct instruction in areas such as Braille, assistive technology, orientation, and mobility (as applicable)
- Collaborate with classroom teachers, related service providers, and families to ensure cohesive support
- Monitor student progress and complete required documentation
- Participate in IEP meetings and professional development as needed
- Foster an inclusive, positive learning atmosphere
This position offers a structured weekly schedule of 37.5 hours, allowing you to focus fully on your students in a collaborative and caring setting.
