Teacher for the Visually Impaired (TVI) | West Chester, Pennsylvania

Qualifications & Desired Experience:
- Current credential as a Teacher of the Visually Impaired (TVI) or eligibility for appropriate state certification
- Experience working with school-aged students who are visually impaired, preferably in itinerant or school-based settings
- Strong understanding of braille, assistive technology, and adaptive teaching strategies
- Excellent communication skills for collaboration with teams, families, and administrators
- Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel throughout the county
Responsibilities:
- Provide direct instruction to students with visual impairments in multiple school settings
- Assess functional vision, adapt curriculum, and recommend specialized materials or equipment
- Collaborate closely with school staff, related service providers, and families
- Develop and monitor individualized education programs (IEPs)
- Serve as a resource for faculty on best practices for accommodating visually impaired learners
