Teacher of Visually Impaired - Anoka, MN
Enhance your career this summer by providing specialized instruction for students who are blind or visually impaired in a supportive, collaborative educational environment. This contract opportunity offers a rewarding experience teaching in a setting dedicated to students with significant behavioral and physical needs.
Beginning June 8, 2026, and concluding July 16, 2026, you’ll work Monday through Thursday, 8:45 a.m. to 12:45 p.m., totaling 20 hours per week. The caseload consists of 10-15 students, and you’ll serve one building during Extended School Year (ESY) services. This is an ideal position for professionals experienced or passionate about serving exceptional learners in a dynamic, multidisciplinary team.
Key Qualifications:
- Valid credentials as a Teacher for the Visually Impaired (TVI) or Blind/Visually Impaired (BVI) educator
- Previous experience working with students with severe behavioral and/or physical disabilities is highly valued
- Ability to implement and adapt individualized instruction to meet unique student needs
- Strong collaboration, organization, and communication skills
Essential Responsibilities:
- Provide direct instruction and supports to students on your caseload, developing and implementing individualized educational strategies
- Collaborate with classroom staff, therapists, and families to maximize learning outcomes
- Utilize assistive technology and adaptive materials to ensure accessibility and engagement
- Participate in ESY programming, progress monitoring, and relevant team meetings
