Qualifications:
- Valid Minnesota teaching license with Special Education: Blind or Visually Impaired (BVI) endorsement required
- Experience working with K-8 students with mild-to-moderate or severe visual impairments
- Strong communication skills for collaboration with IEP teams and staff
- Ability to attend remote staff meetings via Zoom
- Prior consulting experience on IEP teams strongly preferred
Core Responsibilities:
- Serve as a consulting TVI for K-8 students, providing 10 hours of support monthly (ideally 5 hours twice a month)
- Participate in IEP meetings and collaborate with interdisciplinary staff
- Offer guidance on adaptive strategies and accommodations for students with visual impairments
- Complete necessary documentation and case management paperwork
- Attend virtual staff meetings and conduct remote or occasional on-site student check-ins
