Qualifications:

  • Valid Minnesota teaching license with Special Education: Blind or Visually Impaired (BVI) endorsement required
  • Experience working with K-8 students with mild-to-moderate or severe visual impairments
  • Strong communication skills for collaboration with IEP teams and staff
  • Ability to attend remote staff meetings via Zoom
  • Prior consulting experience on IEP teams strongly preferred

Core Responsibilities:

  • Serve as a consulting TVI for K-8 students, providing 10 hours of support monthly (ideally 5 hours twice a month)
  • Participate in IEP meetings and collaborate with interdisciplinary staff
  • Offer guidance on adaptive strategies and accommodations for students with visual impairments
  • Complete necessary documentation and case management paperwork
  • Attend virtual staff meetings and conduct remote or occasional on-site student check-ins
