Teacher of the Visually Impaired in Byron, MN

Responsibilities include providing expertise and support, consulting on individualized educational plans, attending Zoom meetings with staff and students, and completing necessary paperwork to document student progress and service delivery. The caseload consists of one K-8 public charter school, serving students with mild to moderate—and some severe—vision needs. This opportunity offers flexibility, with approximately 10 hours per month (ideally two 5-hour sessions monthly) to make a meaningful impact and collaborate with educators and families.
Desired Qualifications:
- Valid Minnesota teaching license with Special Education: Blind or Visually Impaired (BVI) endorsement
- Previous experience as a Teacher for the Visually Impaired in a school setting
- Familiarity with IEP team collaboration and documentation requirements
- Comfortable leading and participating in virtual meetings and remote consultation
- Strong communication and organizational skills
Key Responsibilities:
- Consult on IEPs for students with visual impairments (mild to severe)
- Attend virtual staff and student meetings
- Deliver recommendations, resources, and training as needed to support student inclusion and success
- Complete all required documentation promptly
