Teacher of Visually Impaired - Arvada, CO

This full-time, onsite contract opportunity begins July 31, 2026, and continues through May 26, 2027, serving students from early childhood through high school. As a valued educational partner, you’ll help craft individualized instruction strategies, support inclusive learning environments, and empower students with the skills they need for lifelong success.
What you bring:
- Current Colorado Department of Education certification with endorsement for “Special Education Specialist – Visual Impairment (ages 0-21)”
- Master’s or higher degree in special education visual impairment (or equivalent, as determined by the department)
- Experience working with a range of ages, from birth through age 21
- Ability to complete district background check and fingerprinting requirements
- Preference given to candidates holding Orientation & Mobility (O&M) Certification, though not required
What you’ll do:
- Conduct and interpret vision-related assessments for comprehensive educational planning
- Develop and implement individualized education programs tailored to each student’s visual needs
- Deliver targeted, vision-related instruction and orientation & mobility services in both classroom and community settings
- Adapt materials and classroom environments for optimal student accessibility
- Engage collaboratively with families, educators, and district staff to support student achievement
- Maintain compliance with required documentation and district procedures
- Demonstrate commitment to supporting students and colleagues throughout the academic year
