Qualifications:
- Active Colorado DOE Certification with endorsement in Special Education Specialist – Visual Impairment (ages 0–21)
- Master’s or higher in special education visual impairment or equivalent as recognized by the department
- Willingness to complete background check and fingerprinting for district requirements
- O&M Certification is highly desirable, but not mandatory
- Ability to commit to the full school year
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct and interpret vision-related assessments and develop Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
- Deliver specialized instruction and support for students across all grade levels, from early childhood to high school
- Adapt classroom materials/environments for accessibility, manage resources, and ensure productive learning spaces
- Collaborate closely with families, staff, and stakeholders to support individual student goals and district strategies
- Maintain accurate records and ensure compliance with all district requirements
