Required Qualifications:
- Valid Oregon Teacher of the Visually Impaired (TVI) license or certification
- Proven experience working with visually impaired students, preferably in a K-12 setting
- Skilled in individualized education processes, developing and modifying instructional materials
- Comfortable with assistive technology tools and adaptations for low-vision or blind learners
- Effective communicator with students, families, and multidisciplinary education teams
- Flexible and able to travel within specified Oregon counties as needed
Role Responsibilities:
- Deliver vision services and instruction (either in-person or virtually), meeting each student’s goals and IEP requirements
- Assess and monitor student progress, ensuring accessibility in curriculum and school activities
- Collaborate with classroom teachers, orientation and mobility specialists, and support staff
- Provide direct instruction in Braille literacy, use of assistive devices, and adaptive skills
- Train staff on best practices for classroom inclusion and accessibility
- Document student performance and maintain accurate records as required by district policies
