- Effective communicator with students, staff, and parents
- Flexible and collaborative approach to working with multidisciplinary teams
Core Responsibilities:
- Provide direct instruction and support to students with visual impairments across various grade levels
- Adapt curriculum materials to ensure accessibility for all students
- Conduct assessments and maintain ongoing progress reports
- Train and consult with other teachers and staff on best practices for inclusion and accommodations
- Support students’ independence, self-advocacy, and social-emotional development
- Participate in IEP meetings and contribute to goal setting and progress monitoring
- Stay current with the latest developments in technology and instructional strategies for visually impaired learners
