1:1 Long-Term Teacher of Visually Impaired in Troy, NY

Qualifications and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree (B.A.) required.
- State certification as a Teacher of the Visually Impaired (TVI) required.
- Experience working 1:1 with pediatric populations, preferably in educational or school environments.
- Ability to adapt instructional strategies to meet individual student needs.
- Strong communication and organizational skills.
Responsibilities:
- Provide consistent 1:1 instructional support and specialized interventions for a visually impaired student, following individualized education plans (IEPs).
- Collaborate closely with classroom teachers, related service providers, and families to support the student’s social, emotional, and academic development.
- Adapt curriculum materials and classroom activities to ensure accessibility for the student.
- Monitor progress, maintain accurate records, and participate in IEP meetings as required.
- Foster a positive, inclusive classroom environment that encourages independence and confidence in students.
