Qualifications:
- Valid Washington State Teaching Certificate with TVI (Teacher of the Visually Impaired) endorsement
- Experience working with students who are visually impaired, preferably in a school or educational setting
- Comfortable providing consultation on accommodations, instructional strategies, and accessible materials for educators and families
- Strong organizational skills and flexibility in scheduling
- Skilled in communicating effectively with multidisciplinary teams, staff, and parents
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver consultative services for Pre-K to 8th grade students, ensuring educational accessibility and inclusion
- Provide monthly 30-minute consultations, plus an additional 30 minutes three times throughout the school year, fitting within agreed-upon timeframes
- Collaborate with classroom educators, administrators, and support staff to develop and adapt instructional materials
- Recommend assistive technology, classroom modifications, and strategies tailored to individual student needs
- Participate in team meetings to support student learning plans and monitor progress
- Serve as a resource for staff training and family education regarding visual impairment
