This contract position, spanning from September 1, 2026, through June 16, 2027, is designed for a compassionate, detail-oriented educator passionate about expanding access and opportunities for Pre-K through 8th grade students with visual impairments.

Qualifications and Desired Experience:

  • Valid Washington State Teaching Certificate with a TVI (Teacher of the Visually Impaired) endorsement
  • Experience providing consultative or direct instructional services to visually impaired students preferred
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with families, educators, and specialists
  • Flexible, organized, and able to manage and document services within required timeframes
  • Commitment to empowering students and fostering independence

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver consultative services totaling 30 minutes per month, with an additional 30-minute session three times per year (timing to be arranged flexibly according to pre-determined periods)
  • Collaborate with school staff and families to develop and implement strategies ensuring accessible curriculum and supportive learning environments for Pre-K through 8th grade students
  • Contribute to IEP meetings, student evaluations, and resource adaptation as needed to support individual learning goals
  • Recommend and train on assistive technologies, adapted materials, and classroom modifications
  • Maintain accurate documentation of services and communication regarding student progress
