In this dynamic travel assignment, you’ll play a crucial role delivering instructional services as a Teacher for the Visually Impaired, while collaborating with educators and staff. Responsibilities:
- Provide direct instruction to students with visual impairments (570 minutes weekly), using evidence-based strategies.
- Offer staff training sessions in the Fall to build team capacity for inclusive education.
- Deliver expert Orientation & Mobility instruction (300 minutes weekly) to enhance students’ independence.
- Monitor, assess, and document student progress, adapting individualized education plans (IEPs) as needed.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to maximize educational outcomes.
- Advocate for accessible resources and technologies to benefit students.
Qualifications:
- Credentials as a Teacher for the Visually Impaired (required).
- Orientation & Mobility certification (preferred or willingness to obtain).
- Experience in K-12 settings.
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and consultation skills.
- Flexibility and adaptability in changing environments.
