Teacher of the Visually Impaired Direct Hire - Chicago, IL
Position Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Teacher of the Visually Impaired (TVI) to join a school team in Chicago’s Medical District. The Teacher of the Visually Impaired works collaboratively with school staff and related service providers to create a therapeutic and academic environment that supports the overall visual-spatial development, learning, and independence of students with vision impairments or blindness.
Specific responsibilities and caseload details will be discussed during the interview.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution with a major in Teacher of the Visually Impaired required
Active Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL) as a Teacher of the Visually Impaired required
Experience working with students who have visual impairments or blindness preferred
Compensation & Benefits
Permanent, direct-hire opportunity
School will discuss the salary range and benefits package during the interview
Full-time Monday–Friday schedule
