Key Qualifications:
- Certification or licensure as a Teacher for the Visually Impaired (TVI)
- Experience working with K-12 students in a school-based setting preferred
- Solid skills in adapting curriculum materials, assistive technology, and Braille instruction
- Strong communication skills for collaboration with students, families, teachers, and staff
- Ability to assess student needs and develop individualized education plans
Role Responsibilities:
- Provide direct instruction and support to students with visual impairments
- Modify classroom materials and deliver accessible curriculum content
- Consult with general education teachers to enhance learning environments
- Conduct functional vision assessments and contribute to IEP meetings
- Train students in assistive technology and facilitate independence
