Qualifications & Desired Experience:
- Valid teaching certification as a Teacher for the Visually Impaired
- Experience working with K-12 students with varying visual impairments, including Braille instruction
- Strong understanding of adaptive technologies and learning materials for visually impaired students
- Ability to develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
- Excellent communication, organizational, and teamwork skills
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver specialized instruction to students with visual impairments in both individual and group settings
- Adapt curriculum materials and classroom environments to meet individualized needs
- Conduct ongoing assessments and maintain detailed progress records
- Collaborate with classroom teachers, families, and related service providers to support students’ educational plans
- Facilitate the use of Braille and other assistive devices as required
- Participate in IEP meetings and contribute to educational planning and advocacy
