Make an impact by helping students reach their full potential as a Teacher for the Visually Impaired. We're seeking two dedicated professionals for the 2026-27 school year to work full-time with a collaborative and supportive team. This on-site position centers around providing specialized instruction to a caseload of 15 students, including eight who require braille instruction.
As a Teacher for the Visually Impaired, you'll play a key role in equipping students with the skills, confidence, and resources they need to thrive in the classroom and beyond.
What We're Looking For:
- State certification as a Teacher for the Visually Impaired (TVI) or eligibility to obtain
- Experience working with school-aged children, preferably as a Visually Impaired Teacher
- Strong understanding of braille instruction and adaptive technology
- Ability to develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs)
- Collaborative mindset and strong communication skills
Responsibilities Include:
- Delivering direct instruction to visually impaired students in a variety of educational settings
- Designing and adapting curriculum materials, especially for braille users
- Collaborating with teachers, support staff, and families to meet student needs
- Conducting functional vision and learning media assessments
- Participating in IEP meetings and maintaining ongoing documentation
- Supporting the transition and independence goals of each student
