Teacher for the Visually Impaired | Columbus, Georgia

Key Qualifications:
- Valid Georgia Educator Certification specific to Teachers of the Visually Impaired (TVI)
- Proficiency in instruction, assessment, and individualized support for students with visual impairments
- Strong documentation skills, with the ability to maintain thorough daily logs of student services
- Flexibility to work with a variety of grade levels based on interest and experience
- Exceptional communication and collaboration abilities
- Commitment to onsite presence; remote/virtual candidates are not eligible for this role
Role Responsibilities:
- Provide direct instruction and support tailored to the unique needs of visually impaired students
- Collaborate with special education teams, families, and support staff to develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
- Assess, document, and regularly update student progress and service delivery
- Adapt teaching materials and strategies to provide accessible learning experiences
- Participate in ongoing planning, staff meetings, and professional development, including possible pre- and post-year planning days
This position offers flexibility in scheduling, with the possibility to consider part-time hours depending on the candidate’s needs and caseload distribution. The assignment is set for the 2026-2027 academic year, with interviews anticipated for late June to early July.
