A full-time Teachers for the Visually Impaired (TVI) professional is needed for an onsite contract assignment for the upcoming school year. This role provides a unique opportunity to work collaboratively with a dedicated team and help determine your ideal caseload by sharing your age group preferences and professional experience during the interview process.
Responsibilities include:
- Delivering direct instruction and consultative services to students with visual impairments across various age groups
- Completing daily log entries to document services and student progress
- Collaborating with classroom teachers, support staff, and families to promote accessible learning environments
- Developing and adapting educational materials that maximize student participation and independence
- Participating in IEP meetings and contributing to student goal-setting
- Maintaining compliance with all district policies and state/federal guidelines
Qualifications:
- Active Georgia Educator Certification for Teachers of the Visually Impaired (TVI) is required
- Ready and available for onsite work throughout the contract term (no virtual/VOCO candidates)
- Strong organizational skills, particularly for documenting daily services
- Ability to collaborate in team-based settings
- Open and flexible regarding age group or grade-level assignment
This position offers a full-time schedule of at least 37.5 hours per week, with the possibility of considering part-time arrangements depending on district need. Contract dates run from early August through late May, with the potential for additional planning days before and after the standard school year. Interviews will be scheduled after the district’s budget is finalized; candidates will be kept informed throughout the pipeline process.
