This full-time onsite role offers the opportunity to serve as a Teacher for the Visually Impaired (TVI) for the upcoming academic year, with the possibility of part-time arrangements. Located near Fortson, GA, this contract position will cover the 2026-2027 school year, starting August 3rd and concluding May 21st, with potential pre/post-planning days.
Key Qualifications:
- Valid Georgia Educator Certification for Teachers of the Visually Impaired (TVI) is mandatory
- Experience as a Teacher for the Visually Impaired in school settings strongly preferred
- Comfortability with completing daily service documentation and logs
- Flexible in collaborating on caseload size and age group placement based on district needs and your expertise
- Dedicated to in-person instruction; remote/virtual candidates will not be considered
Responsibilities:
- Provide individualized and group instruction to students with visual impairments according to their IEPs
- Participate in IEP meetings, assessments, and collaborate closely with classroom teachers, administrators, and families
- Maintain up-to-date daily logs and service records as required by district policies
- Adapt curriculum and materials to support student accessibility across grade levels
- Stay current with best practices, resources, and assistive technologies in vision education
